Alexandra Gorokhovsky
Second Violin
 
ALEXANDRA GOROKHOVSKY, (Violin) a native of Kiev, Ukraine, joined the NJSO in 1995. While in the Ukraine, she received prizes in regional, national, solo and chamber music competitions and was trained at the Kiev State Conservatory. After moving to the United States with her family in 1989, she studied at the Manhattan School of Music under the direction of Oleh Krysa, Glenn Dicterow, Michael Gilbert, and Yoko Takebe where she received Bachelor's and Master's degrees. She has performed in master classes with Mr. Dicterow, concertmaster of the NY Philharmonic, and Andrés Cárdenes, concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to her schedule with the NJSO, she enjoys a busy freelance career, performing with the many orchestras in NY and NJ. Alexandra currently performs regularly with a trio and quartet performing chamber music. She has performed on numerous Broadway shows which include A Light in the Piazza, Show Boat, Oklahoma, Kiss Me Kate, La Boheme, Titanic and many others. Alexandra has been living in Brooklyn since coming to the United States and enjoys spending time with her two sons, Phillip and Daniel.
