WATTS PLAYS BRAHMS
Schumann’s third symphony was inspired by a visit to the Rhine region, known for its fine scenery—and its bottled delights. Brahms’ second piano concerto likewise brings hearty German flavor; closer to home, Cone’s Music for Strings was written for New Jersey’s Tercentenary Festival of Music in 1964.
