The new work by George Walker was commissioned by the NJSO, which gives the world
premiere. The Cincinnati, National and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestras are co-commissioners
of this piece.

George Walker's Sinfonia No. 4 (Strands) is a Meet The Composer commission and is commissioned through Meet The Composer's Commissioning Music/USA program, which is made possible by generous support from the Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the Helen F. Whitaker Fund.

One of musical theater’s most accomplished leading ladies brings an evening dedicated to the Broadway and Hollywood songbooks. McDonald first made Broadway history as the youngest-ever four-time Tony Award winner, and she has since earned raves for her flawless recordings. For this engagement, she brings songs by Stephen Sondheim, Lerner and Loewe, Harold Arlen, Kurt Weill and more immortal songwriters.
